This document covers the license terms for ASANKA devices, content libraries, platform software, and warranty provisions issued by TECHAiDE Ltd.

ASANKA Device License

Each ASANKA hardware unit (including ASANKA Lite and ASANKA Pro devices) is licensed, not sold. TECHAiDE Ltd retains ownership of the device firmware, embedded software, and all associated intellectual property. By activating and using an ASANKA device, the institution or end user (the “Licensee”) agrees to the following terms.

1.1 Permitted Use

  • The device may be used solely for educational purposes within the licensed institution or organisation
  • One device license covers one physical unit; licenses are non-transferable to third parties without TECHAiDE's prior written consent
  • The Licensee may not modify, reverse-engineer, disassemble, or attempt to extract the device firmware or embedded software
  • Devices may be moved between classrooms or buildings within the same licensed institution

1.2 Restrictions

  • Devices may not be resold, sub-licensed, rented, or leased to any third party
  • Modification of hardware components voids the device license and warranty
  • Unauthorised firmware updates or jailbreaking is strictly prohibited
  • Devices must not be used to distribute content outside of the ASANKA platform without express written permission
Each ASANKA device ships with a unique Device ID. Activating the device on the ASANKA platform constitutes acceptance of this Device License Agreement.

Content License

ASANKA devices and platform subscriptions include access to a curated library of educational content including curriculum-aligned lessons, interactive modules, video resources, assessments, and supplementary materials (collectively, the “Content Library”). All content is the intellectual property of TECHAiDE Ltd or its licensed content partners.

2.1 Scope of Content License

  • The Licensee is granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Content Library for educational delivery within the licensed institution
  • Students and teachers may view, interact with, and download content for personal, offline educational use on licensed ASANKA devices
  • Content may be projected or displayed to classes and groups within the licensed institution
  • Teachers on Pro or Enterprise plans may supplement the Content Library with their own uploaded materials

2.2 Content Restrictions

  • Content from the ASANKA Content Library may not be reproduced, re-published, or redistributed in any form outside the Platform
  • Screen-recording, screenshotting for redistribution, or extraction of content assets (images, audio, video) is prohibited
  • Content may not be used for commercial purposes, public broadcast, or resale
  • Modifying or creating derivative works of TECHAiDE content without written consent is not permitted

2.3 Third-Party Content

Some content within the ASANKA library is licensed from third-party publishers and curriculum providers. Use of such content is subject to the respective publisher's terms. TECHAiDE will notify institutions where specific third-party restrictions apply.

Platform Software End-User License Agreement (EULA)

This End-User License Agreement governs your use of the ASANKA platform software, including the web application, mobile apps, device management tools, and any software updates delivered by TECHAiDE.

3.1 License Grant

TECHAiDE grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the ASANKA platform software on authorised devices solely for educational purposes in accordance with your subscription plan and these license terms.

3.2 Software Updates

  • TECHAiDE may issue software updates, patches, or new firmware versions at its discretion
  • Updates may be delivered automatically over a network connection or manually via TECHAiDE's update tools
  • Continued use of the Platform following an update constitutes acceptance of any changes to the software
  • TECHAiDE reserves the right to discontinue support for older software versions with reasonable notice

3.3 Data and Privacy

Use of the platform software is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. By using the software, you consent to the collection and use of data as described in those documents.

Hardware Warranty

TECHAiDE Ltd warrants that each ASANKA device will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service conditions for the warranty period from the date of delivery to the licensed institution.

4.1 What the Warranty Covers

  • Hardware component failures under normal operating conditions
  • Screen defects not caused by physical damage or misuse
  • Battery capacity degradation beyond acceptable thresholds within the warranty period
  • Connectivity module failures (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) not caused by external interference

4.2 What the Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Physical damage, drops, spills, or other accidental damage
  • Damage caused by use outside of intended educational environments
  • Damage resulting from unauthorised modifications or repairs
  • Normal wear and tear (scratches, cosmetic damage)
  • Loss or theft of the device
  • Damage caused by power surges or use of non-approved chargers
To make a warranty claim, contact our support team at support@techaide.global with the device serial number, proof of purchase, and a description of the fault.

Repair and Replacement

Where a device is determined to be defective under warranty, TECHAiDE will, at its discretion, repair or replace the device at no charge. Out-of-warranty repairs are available at TECHAiDE's standard service rates.

  • Warranty repairs are typically completed within 5–10 business days of receipt of the device
  • A replacement loan device may be provided for institutions on Enterprise plans during the repair period
  • Replaced devices or parts become the property of TECHAiDE
  • Repaired or replaced devices retain the remaining original warranty period or 90 days from repair, whichever is longer

License Termination

All licenses granted under this agreement remain in effect for the duration of the active subscription or device ownership period, subject to the following:

  • Licenses terminate automatically upon expiry or cancellation of the associated subscription
  • TECHAiDE may terminate any license immediately upon breach of these terms
  • Upon termination, all use of licensed content and platform software must cease
  • Devices remain functional for locally cached content after subscription expiry, but access to the Content Library and cloud services will be suspended
